HairTG - Surface Pro

HairTG–Surface Pro is a hair/fur texture generator for Substance 3D Painter and Designer. It contains both HairTG-Surface and HairTG-Facial Hair as well as exclusive components to create your own facial hair designs and custom generators with Substance 3D Designer.

The 2.0 version contains:

• HairTG – Surface v2
• HairTG – Facial Hair v1
• Pro components for Designer v1
• Preview/subset of the Pro components for Designer v2

This tool is targeted to professional users who have experience with Substance 3D Painter and 3D in general. It has a lot of features and requires some learning (tutorial videos included) and practice time to get the best out of it.

Note: this product and components have changed name since initially released. They are the same products and contents, only the naming has changed. Here are the new vs. former names:

• HairTG-Surface (was formerly "HairTG-Surface, Hair Edition").
• HairTG-Facial Hair (was formerly "HairTG-Surface, Facial Hair Edition").
• HairTG-Surface Pro (was formerly "HairTG-Surface, Hair Edition Extended").

Requirements

Substance 3D Painter 7.2.3 or compatible version.

For the Pro specific components, Substance Designer 2021.1.2 or compatible version.

Features

• HairTG-Surface: grow PBR hair/fur on any surface, procedurally with dozens of parameters and paint masks to drive the hair direction, length, aspect and other properties.
• HairTG-Facial Hair: a collection of PBR facial hair parametric decals initially including 10 eyebrow, 5 eyelashes, 8 mustache and 3 goatee designs which can be modified procedurally in various ways using dozens of parameters.
• Access to the HairTG-Surface base hair generator component (SBSAR) the Painter components are built from (v1 and v2 preview).
• SBS files of the Painter components built upon the  HairTG-Surface base component so you can create your own as well as custom designs (eyebrows, eyelashes etc.) for HairTG-Facial Hair (v1 only).
• SBS files of the all HairTG-Facial Hair designs (26 in total) that you can study and reuse for your own designs (v1 only).

License notice

Licenses are single seat only. You cannot resell or distribute the package or some of its content into a form that would expose it to reuse. You cannot share Painter Smart Materials made using SBSARs from this package unless users have an appropriate license of this product. Users using custom SBSAR/SBS making use of the HairTG-Surface components are subject to the same license terms as this product, they must have a license of HairTG-Surface, Hair Edition Extended in order to use them. 

License types

Studio: the tool and generated textures may be used for commercial projects, for individuals, schools or companies with revenue above USD $100K a year.

Indie: the tool and generated textures may be used for commercial projects, for individuals, schools or companies with revenue below USD $100K a year.

Version 2.0.1 is a package organization update only, the binaries are the same as the previous release, changes are:

• Tutorial videos for v2.0 can now be watched online.
• Reorganized file arrangement in the Artstation packaging.

Version 2.0 of the Hair Edition considerably enhances the tool in ease of use, capabilities and output quality with new fiber generators for short/long hair and fur, new example projects and a whole new set of video tutorials replacing those of the earlier versions . See the enclosed release notes for details.

The 2.0pre release of the Extended edition includes the Hair Edition v2 and Facial Hair Edition v1, Substance 3D Designer components for v1 and a preview/subset of those for v2. When the Facial Hair Edition v2 will be available, the Extended edition will be updated with the full set of v2 components.
